An armadillo barrier is a small bump made of hard plastic, typically installed in a row along the surface of the roadway to create light protection for a bicycle lane or in a grid to keep traffic out of a neutral area. They are just tall enough to serve as a deterrent to motor vehicles but can be mounted slowly if necessary. The name refers to a characteristic armadillo shape. They are sometimes known as "Zicla barriers", after a manufacturer of a popular ellipsoid-shaped model that is painted with zebra stripes.
How to map
Map a node to represent an individual armadillo barrier or a way to represent a closely spaced row of armadillo barriers.
