I code primarily in Python, Scala, Java and SQL (Postgres), with some Groovy and JavaScript.

I spend much of my time swimming in the vast waters of Big Data: Spark, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Storm and the Hadoop ecosystem -- HBase, Hive and Oozie in particular.

This year (2020) I have been more cloud-focused, and have immersed myself in GCP and its assorted offerings, Cloud Dataproc and Bigtable in particular.

I use Airflow as my primary workflow engine (supplanting Oozie for all net-new development).

I work frequently with Postgres.

I have also done substantial web development using Django, jQuery and DataTables.

I enjoy learning about new technologies, languages and tools and how they can fit into my development ecosystem.

My primary dev environment is based on Ubuntu using a combination of zsh, git, gVim and Eclipse, among other tools.
