I have a system that is basically an open plastic bag floating at sea, with one pump inlet (analog control) and one control valve outlet. I have pressure sensors inside and outside the «plastic bag». I want to control two states, flow rate through the system, and internal water height. The internal water height should be x cm higher inside than outside (sea level) to ensure that the water doesnt inflate/collapse.

My problem is that waves cause a disturbance in the measurments since the amplitude of the waves are way larger than the x cm higher water height I wish to have inside. When the water is still there is no issue.

Is filtering out the waves the only approach? Or are there any control method that any of you recommend for this system?
