I saw this hinge (circled in red). I am making the same thing and I would like to know what kind of hinge is this and how it is fixed. The black box which t is allowing to see saw is not supposed to have any holes in it. Its a dark box.

That is a simple pivot with what appears to be an acorn nut, which in turn suggests a threaded fastener of some kind - typically a bolt inserted from the rear.

If you are not allowed to insert a bolt from the other side then you would need to create a blind hole from the outside and use a press-fit dowel or a threaded rod and use something like Loctite thread lock to hold it in place.
