I just wanted to double check. So according to the following equations provided by Timoshenko, where little r is the radius from the center, maximum stress should occur at the center.
However, every FEA analysis I've seen on YouTube for a flywheel presents maximum stress occurring at the outer rim. Even ChatGPT says higher von Mises occur at the rim.
So I'm a bit confused. Am I missing something?
