I am attempting to troubleshoot occasional shutdowns on my Raspberry Pi 5. I am using it as a NAS running Docker on my home network. I have had network issues with it since I've started using it that I have addressed with a cron script, however it is now occasionally shutting down every few days and requiring a restart. The hardware list is as follows:
- Raspberry Pi 5 8GB
- Raspberry Pi M.2 Hat+
- Timetec 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen3 SSD
- OEM 5.1v 5a Power Supply
- OEM Heatsink and Fan
Currently, the Pi and Hat boots, and the Hat+ displays an Orange Power LED. I assume this is a warning, however I am not sure why, as the Power supply should provide the required power for this configuration, especially as the hat is able to provide 3A of current to the SSD, but it should only consume 2A max.
Steps to resolve:
- There is no/limited documentation on the meaning of the LED status lights for the Hat+ that I have been able to locate.
- I have added this line to the eeprom: PSU_MAX_CURRENT=5000
- Used a different PSU
This may not ultimately be the problem with my Pi, however I have a strong suspicion that it is. Any help would be appreciated.
