So I am trying to implement 802.1X authentication using freeradius as my RADIUS server. For the authentication method I have chosen EAP-TEAP. My client device (a Windows 11 PC) has the machine and the user certificate installed. Previously, just using EAP-TLS worked without problems. Now I want to implement EAP-TEAP with EAP-TLS for both machine and user authentication. However, when trying to get authorized, the freeradius server provides me with the following warning:

eap_teap: WARNING: Phase 2: No EAP-Identity found to start EAP conversation

followed by the error:

eap: ERROR: EAP-Identity unknown.

What am I doing wrong? As far as I know the EAP-Identity is the Common Name of the client certificate, right? But both my client certificates have Common Names... And I can't find anything regarding that error on the Internet. What do I have to do to fix that error?

I installed both the machine certificate and the user certificate and I expected to be authenticated, as I have configured the 802.1X settings accordingly on the network interface. I don't know where the issue lies. More info: It is about a wired connection, my laptop is connected to a switch which acts as the authenticator.
