This appears to be an Edge-specific issue that started about one year ago (2024). Intranet pages in Edge have started displaying "Hmm cannot reach this page" briefly (about 2 seconds) before reloading properly for intranet-hosted IIS sites.
I've tried looking through DoH (DNS-over-HTTPS) and Zone options but nothing seems to remove this flicker. Strangely, this only happens once per login session - once the intranet is resolved, the issue is resolved for the rest of the login session.
This issue applies to any intranet site, regardless of authentication mechanism. However, since we have active logout policies, this happens to many users about 1x/day - any known fixes for this problem?
EDIT: The issue does not occur on other browsers. I am checking wire traffic to confirm whether Edge is checking an external DNS resolver "first" before internal.
