Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 was released October 11, 2012, and reached end of life April 14, 2023. Exchange Server is the email server product developed by Microsoft, and integrates calendaring and contact management software with its email functionality. The traditional Exchange Server product will be replaced by Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) October 14, 2025, and will be incompatible with Exchange Server 2016/2019 after CU1 is released.

New features and changes in Exchange Server 2013 include:
- EMC (Exchange Management Console) has been replaced by a Web-based Exchange Administrative Center (EAC).
- Offline support in Outlook Web Access
- Site Mailboxes (Allows SharePoint documents and emails to be integrated with each other)
- Outlook and OWA integration with apps from the Office marketplace
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- This is actually a data-leakage protection capability, and DLP policies are based on regulatory standards, including PII and PCI.
- Public folders are now stored in mailbox databases
