Questions tagged [md5]

MD5 message-digest algorithm is a cryptographic hash function producing a 128-bit hash value. MD5 was designed by Ronald Rivest in 1991. In the 1990s, MD5 and DES were some of the only encryption technology options available for US companies to create "export grade" (deliberately weakened) encryption. The restrictions were relaxed in 2000.
