I was an engineer on the Google Cloud Storage project from 2010-2024. I implemented the first 3 major versions of gsutil (and more recently, gsutil's rsync command), as well as many parts of the API and backend services. Most recently I was the TL of the GCS gRPC effort, until I retired in Mar 2024.
